We are a small, family business that concentrates on doing the things that we know best. The TA Images web site has been established as a separate resource in order to provide easier access to our images.
Even though most of our work is in Information and Communications Technology there has been involvement in photography for just as long. With the rapid growth of digital imaging - via scanners, cameras and mobile phones - there has been a natural merger of computers and the Internet with digital photography.
Our images are taken on Canon professional-level cameras and lenses. Subjects range from sports events, such as cycling and running, to landscapes, flora and travel photography. Being digital the pictures can be checked without processing and only printed when needed - this greatly reduces the costs for event photography.
We can produce prints up to A3+ in-house, to special order, but recommend using the PhotoBox service for everything else. Their service means that you can order high quality prints from a leading photo processor at any time and we can have more time for actually taking the pictures.
Also we are totally independent so we can choose and use the best.
Privacy
As you will see we do not record the names, or indeed any personal details, of any competitors in the amateur races that we cover. This stops anyone searching this site by name, unlike some other event photo web sites. Also the pictures are small and enlarged versions are only available in response to an e-mail request.
Events such road races are held in public places and so there are no legal restrictions on taking photographs. Indeed all of us are increasingly being photographed by security cameras not only in public places but also private areas, such as shopping centres. However some people may still have concerns about having their photo appear on the web; even if it is small and anonymous on this site.
If anyone does have a concern or objection about their photograph being shown then they can simple contact us on images@TAimages.com (or by post) and we can remove it for them. Complaints need to include your name and address along with the image reference (IMG_xxxx or IGH_xxxx) to avoid any disputes about who actually appears in the picture.
If there any pictures that include children and cause concern then parents, guardians, organisers, police, social workers, etc. are able to contact us at any time.

Road
We are conveniently located near the A1M / M18 / M1 / M62 motorways with easy access to the major metro areas - Sheffield / Leeds / York / Hull / Nottingham / Manchester - and the attractive countryside of the Peak District, Yorkshire Dales, Moors and Wolds. So direct car travel is often the most convenient.
Rail
We can also make use of fast rail links - GNER to London and Edinburgh, the Virgin rail links to the South-West and Trans-Pennine services to Manchester. So being on-site in, say, Central London by 9am is straight-forward.
Air
We also have a choice of nearby flight departures - via Manchester, Nottingham-East Midlands, Leeds-Bradford, Hull and the new Doncaster-Sheffield Airport. This means easy access to Europe, and beyond, using a range of airlines. International air travel is no problem.
